New Delhi – Under the esteemed guidance of senior Buddhist leaders and Dhamma warriors, a significant Two-Day National Conference is scheduled to take place in New Delhi on 6th and 7th June. The conference aims to strengthen the ongoing movement for the liberation of Mahabodhi Mahavihar in Bodhgaya and to formulate a global strategy for disseminating Lord Buddha’s Dhamma teachings.

On 13th May, a pivotal meeting was convened at Sikkim House, Bodhgaya, under the banner of the All India Buddhist Forum. The gathering focused on in-depth discussions regarding the Mahabodhi Mahavihar Bodhgaya Monk Movement. Participants, representing various organizations, unanimously resolved to establish a National Committee to guide and expand the movement. This committee will play a crucial role in shaping the strategic direction of the campaign for the liberation of Mahabodhi Mahavihar, a sacred site of immense significance for Buddhists worldwide.

Key Events

In line with this collective resolution, the following events have been planned:

  1. Mass Protest at Jantar Mantar: On 5th June, a massive nationwide protest will be organized at Jantar Mantar, New Delhi, with participation from Buddhist organizations and supporters across India. This demonstration aims to amplify the call for the liberation of Mahabodhi Mahavihar.

  2. Two-Day National Conference: On 6th and 7th June , a landmark conference will be held in New Delhi, running from 9:30 AM to 6:30 PM each day. The event will bring together Buddhist monks, scholars, organizations, and Dhamma activists from across the country. The conference will not only focus on the liberation of Mahabodhi Mahavihar but also on crafting a comprehensive plan to promote Lord Buddha’s teachings globally.

The conference is envisioned as a platform to unite Buddhist communities and supporters in their shared commitment to Dhamma and justice. It seeks to foster collaboration among organizations and individuals to strengthen the movement and ensure its success. Beyond the immediate goal of liberating Mahabodhi Mahavihar, the event will outline a roadmap for spreading the universal message of peace, compassion, and wisdom as taught by Lord Buddha.

The National Buddhist Organization Coordination Committee has extended invitation to all Dhamma followers, Buddhist organizations, and conscientious citizens to participate in this historic event. Attendees are encouraged to contribute their ideas, vision, and efforts to make this movement a transformative force for justice and unity.
