New Delhi- To mark the 10th anniversary of the Swachh Bharat Mission, the Department of Justice is launching the Swachhta Hi Seva Campaign 2024 from September 17 to October 2. The campaign aims to rekindle the spirit of collective action and citizen participation in nationwide cleanliness efforts. It emphasizes a comprehensive approach with three key pillars: focused transformation of specific areas through dedicated efforts, engaging citizens through participatory activities and awareness campaigns, and providing preventive health check-ups and social security for sanitation workers.
On September 17, all officers and staff of the Department will take a Swachhta Oath, led by the Secretary. Throughout the campaign, department staff will perform cleanliness activities at the Jaisalmer House complex, including unclogging the sewerage system, beautifying the area, addressing maintenance issues, and deep cleaning the premises. This collective effort will ensure the transformation of the workplace into a cleaner and more organized environment.
The Minister of Law and Justice has invited the Chief Justice of India and Chief Justices of various High Courts to actively participate, extending the campaign to the judiciary across the country. The campaign will culminate on October 2, 2024, with a grand event to commemorate Swachh Bharat Diwas, embedding cleanliness as a way of life for all and honoring the legacy of Mahatma Gandhi.
