Sonipat- A museum dedicated to the Indian Constitution and the rights and freedoms it enshrines will be inaugurated on November 23 at O.P. Jindal Global University in Sonipat, Haryana. The museum, named 'Constitution Museum and the Rights and Freedoms Academy,' will open to the public on Saturday following its inauguration by Om Birla, Speaker of Lok Sabha; Nayab Singh Saini, Chief Minister of Haryana; and Arjun Ram Meghwal, Union Minister for Law.

The museum commemorates the 75th anniversary of the adoption of the Indian Constitution and celebrates the 300 individuals who formed the Constituent Assembly and drafted the Constitution. "This singular institution... will serve as a resource centre as it is full of digitised installations equating it with a library and making it a dynamic and evolving space which can be updated with pertinent developments in the areas of law and Constitution," said Prof. C. Raj Kumar, founding Vice Chancellor of the university.

The museum will feature artwork from across India, reflecting the country's diversity and its unity under the ideals of the Constitution. The museum's five goals, as outlined by Prof. Raj Kumar, are to advance civic education, democratize access to the Constitution, pay tribute to the members of the Constituent Assembly, recognize important institutional imaginations, and examine the evolution of rights and freedoms over the last 75 years.

The museum's development involved approximately 600 individuals, including curators, artists, and sculptors. While open to the public from Saturday, entry will require pre-registration beginning in December.
