Patna — RJD leader Misa Bharti, daughter of Lalu Prasad Yadav and MP from Pataliputra, made a statement on Makar Sankranti suggesting the possibility of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar rejoining the Grand Alliance. Speaking to the media at her mother’s residence, former Bihar Chief Minister Rabri Devi’s house, Bharti said, “The doors of Rabri Devi’s residence are always open for Nitish Kumar.”

When pressed about the likelihood of Kumar’s return, Bharti stated, “Nothing is impossible in politics,” adding that it was “too early to say anything” with the Assembly elections approaching. She emphasized that “auspicious work starts only after Kharmas,” implying that discussions about political alliances could be premature.

Bharti’s comments have fueled speculation about a potential reconciliation between Kumar and the RJD-led Grand Alliance. She emphasized the familial bond between the leaders, stating that Kumar is “elder to us and is like a guardian” and that there are “no friend and enemy in politics.” She drew a parallel between Kumar and her father, Lalu Prasad Yadav, likening them to elder and younger brothers.

Bharti softened the tone of political rivalry, calling Nitish Kumar a "family member" and "uncle," suggesting dialogue and reconciliation are possible. She expressed a broader perspective on political alliances, stating, “I have no enmity with Prime Minister Modi or Amit Shah, so why should we have enmity with Nitish Kumar?”

This statement follows Lalu Prasad Yadav’s earlier offer to invite Kumar back into the Grand Alliance, which Kumar declined. However, Misa Bharti’s words appear to leave the door open, highlighting the fluidity of political loyalties, particularly in light of the upcoming elections.

Notably, Misa Bharti’s brother, Tej Pratap Yadav, has publicly opposed any potential alliance with Nitish Kumar. During the Chura-Dahi feast at Rabri Devi’s residence, Tej Pratap Yadav firmly stated that the family would “neither invite Nitish Kumar to come, and neither will we let him enter number 10.”

Similarly, Tejashwi Yadav, Lalu Prasad Yadav’s younger son and Leader of the Opposition in Bihar, has previously expressed reservations about rejoining forces with Kumar, comparing it to “shooting oneself in the foot.”
