Parvesh Verma’s comments expose BJP’s bias against Punjabis, says AAP MP

Chandigarh- AAP leaders in Punjab have strongly criticized BJP's Parvesh Verma for his controversial remarks about Punjab-registered vehicles in Delhi, calling it an attack on Punjabi identity and dignity. AAP MP Malvinder Singh Kang, speaking alongside spokesperson Neel Garg, condemned Verma's suggestion that vehicles with Punjab registration in Delhi could be linked to security concerns ahead of Republic Day.

"BJP leader Parvesh Verma has openly displayed the anti-Punjab mindset of his party. His baseless allegations against Punjabis reflect BJP's deep-seated prejudice against the people of Punjab," Kang stated at a press conference in Chandigarh. He emphasized the historic contribution of Punjabis to both Delhi's development and India's independence struggle, arguing that questioning their patriotism was an insult to the entire nation.

The AAP MP demanded Prime Minister Narendra Modi take action against Verma and called for a public apology from the BJP. "Delhi residents must teach these hateful, divisive leaders a lesson on February 5," Kang declared, referring to the upcoming Delhi elections. He characterized Verma's comments as part of the BJP's strategy of polarization during election season, emphasizing that such remarks affect not just Punjab but challenge the principles of national unity and democracy. "The BJP must clarify its stand or get ready to face the backlash of the people. Punjabis have always been the backbone of this nation, and such statements will not be tolerated," he added.
