Lucknow- Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) National President Mayawati held a crucial meeting with the party's state-level 'Muslim Samaj Bhaichara Sangathan' on Wednesday, announcing a significant organizational push to consolidate the Muslim and Dalit vote banks across Uttar Pradesh.
The core decision involves establishing 2-member 'Muslim Brotherhood Committees' (Muslim Bhai-chara Sangathan) in all 18 mandals (divisions) of the state. These two-member groups, composed of mission-oriented party members, are tasked with conducting small-scale meetings within the Muslim community, explaining the party's policies, and actively enrolling new members, thereby deepening the party’s grassroots penetration.
During the special session at the BSP headquarters, Mayawati made a pointed political appeal, urging the Muslim community to directly support the BSP instead of the Samajwadi Party (SP) or Congress in order to effectively counter the "fatal politics of the BJP." Citing past electoral outcomes, the BSP chief argued that despite the Muslim community's 'one-sided support,' the SP and Congress have repeatedly failed to defeat the BJP in elections. She stressed that the BSP, under the vision of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, remains the sole dedicated political force committed to protecting the rights and dignity of all marginalized sections, including Dalits, Tribals, Backwards, and Muslims, who together form the party's 'Bahujan Samaj.'
The former Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh emphasized that the party is dedicated to fostering mutual brotherhood among people who are 'broken, oppressed, and marginalized' on the basis of caste and religious malice. She pledged that a BSP government would be committed to the constitutional right to security of life, property, and faith for all citizens without discrimination, alongside providing employment and a dignified life. Furthermore, she stated that the BSP's ultimate goal is to achieve power to establish 'Rule of Law by Law' in society, ensuring justice and security for every segment
In an administrative directive to bolster organizational preparedness, Mayawati instructed all District Presidents, Mandal In-charges, and organization office-bearers to ensure active participation in the upcoming Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the electoral roll. The party leadership was told to campaign door-to-door to ensure that the name of every supporter is registered in the voter list, leaving no eligible member of the 'Bahujan Samaj' disenfranchised.
