Udaipur- Hours before Home Minister Amit Shah's scheduled rally in Udaipur on Friday, Congress party members organized a Washing Machine Demo in a satirical attack on the BJP.
The rally, set to be held from Dehligate in Udaipur later in the evening, prompted the Congress to make its presence felt in the elections with a unique demonstration.
Congress War Room workers arrived at Dehligate to showcase a live demo of the BJP's washing machine. In a symbolic act, they demonstrated how pressing a button on the washing machine supposedly washed away big corrupt individuals associated with the BJP, leaving them "clean."
In recent months, the opposition has been poking fun at the BJP with the "washing machine" jibe, highlighting their perception of the party's ability to conveniently cleanse any past controversies or corruption allegations faced by politicians who switch sides.
During the demonstration led by senior leader Pankaj Sharma, Congress workers displayed the functioning of the washing machine by putting clothes inside and pressing the button. As the clothes were washed, they emerged completely clean, with the BJP symbolically written on them.
Sharma highlighted the alleged immunity of BJP-affiliated leaders to corruption charges, stating that despite cases registered by agencies like the Enforcement Directorate (ED) and Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), those joining the BJP seemed to have their stains washed away. He criticized the BJP for accommodating leaders accused of financial irregularities and withdrawing cases against them.
Sharma emphasized the effectiveness of the BJP's washing machine, claiming that it could even clean allegations dating back several years. He humorously mentioned the "Modi washing powder," attributing miraculous transformations to the BJP's political apparatus.
"BJP gets the leaders who are accused of scams worth crores included in the party and withdraws the case. BJP has such a washing machine in which even if you put a 10-year-old case, the accused comes out clean. Along with the machine, this miracle is also done by Modi washing powder," he stated.
He further remarked, "We will neither be able to sell such a washing machine to you nor will you be able to buy it, because only one person can keep a machine worth Rs 8,552 crore, he is the Prime Minister of our country."
Sharma emphasized that the alleged magical properties of the washing machine extended beyond cleaning stains; it could also transform individuals accused of scams into patriots with just the press of a spin button.
He cited several leaders, including Himanta Biswa Sarma, Narayan Rane, Ajit Pawar, Hasan Mushrif, Chhagan Bhujbal, Ashok Chavan, and Praful Patel, as examples of those supposedly benefiting from this miraculous transformation.
A large crowd gathered at Delhi Gate to witness the demonstration, which saw the participation of various Congress War Room members, including Ashok Tamboli, Umesh Sharma, Bhagwan Soni, Subhash Chittaura, Kanhaiyalal Menaria, Ganesh Sharma, Omprakash Vaishnav, Kripa Shankar Mishra, Sunil Nalvaya, Dr. Sandeep Garg, Rajveer Meghwal, and Peeraram Chaudhary.
