Chennai - In preparation for the 2026 Tamil Nadu Assembly elections, the ruling DMK party is stepping up its organizational efforts. State leadership has begun requesting regular reports from its constituency in-charges and will hold a high-level executive meeting on November 20th at 10:30 a.m. at the party headquarters, 'Anna Arivalayam', to discuss election strategies.

Chaired by party president and Chief Minister M.K. Stalin, the meeting will focus on assessing election preparedness and reviewing the performance of the party's full-time workers, who were recently appointed for all 234 Assembly constituencies. Half of these full-timers were selected based on their performance in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, where the DMK-led INDIA bloc secured a resounding victory in Tamil Nadu.

To ensure impartiality and focus, the party strategically chose non-residents for these positions. Each full-timer was chosen after screening and consultation with the local leadership and is required to submit weekly reports to the state party headquarters, detailing the progress of their work and identifying strengths and weaknesses within their constituencies.

Furthermore, the DMK has appointed ministers to oversee each district, working closely with the full-timers to monitor constituency performance and ensure the effective implementation of state government schemes. Chief Minister Stalin is actively monitoring the performance of these ministers.

The party has set an ambitious target of winning 200 seats in the 2026 elections, a significant increase from their current 133 seats. DMK leaders, including Youth Wing leader and Deputy Chief Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin, along with state ministers Thangam Thenarasu and E.V., assert that... Velu, and party organizing secretary R.S. Bharathi, are overseeing the election strategy. Udhayanidhi Stalin oversees daily operations.
