New Delhi- Delhi Congress chief Devender Yadav expressed gratitude for the "overwhelming" public support received during the third day of the Delhi Nyay Yatra on Sunday. The yatra, a four-phase initiative launched on November 8, aims to connect Congress workers with residents across Delhi's Assembly constituencies, highlighting the alleged shortcomings of the ruling Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government.
The yatra, which has already covered Chandni Chowk, Sadar Bazar, and Azad Market, passed through areas like Shanti Nagar and Inderlok on Sunday, where Yadav engaged with shopkeepers, residents, and market associations, listening to their grievances. He prayed at the Inderlok Gurdwara.
Yadav emphasized the Congress party's commitment to addressing the concerns of Delhi's residents. "We want to remain in touch with the city residents and know about their problems," he stated, adding that this feedback will be instrumental in formulating future policies to alleviate their hardships.
The Delhi Congress chief accused the AAP government of taking credit for the Congress's work during its previous 15-year tenure, particularly in the areas of environmental sustainability and urban development. He further alleged that the AAP government has wasted the past decade in conflicts with the Lieutenant Governor and the bureaucracy, neglecting the needs of the people.
Yadav expressed confidence in the Congress party's ability to usher in a new era of progress and development in Delhi, contrasting this with the alleged misrule and injustice perpetrated by the AAP. He highlighted the plight of unemployed youth, women, and senior citizens who have allegedly been denied their rightful pensions and rations due to the corruption and misgovernance of the AAP and BJP over the past ten years.
The Delhi Congress Yatra will continue until December 4, covering all 70 Assembly constituencies across the city. The Yatra's first phase covered 16 constituencies from Chandni Chowk, the second covered 18 from November 15 to 20, and the third will cover 16 from November 22 to 27. The fourth phase, from November 29 to December 4, will cover 20 seats.
