Bengaluru- In a major political demonstration, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) organized a massive protest at Freedom Park in Bengaluru on Wednesday, challenging the Karnataka government's handling of Special Component Plan (SCP) and Tribal Sub-Plan (TSP) funds. The party's state president, B.Y. Vijayendra, launched a scathing attack on the Congress-led state government, accusing it of corruption and anti-Dalit policies.

Vijayendra strongly criticized the state government's management of funds designated for Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes, asserting that the Congress administration has failed to implement its pre-election promises of justice and development for marginalized communities.

Vijayendra claimed, “Unable to properly implement its guarantees and misusing funds allocated for the development of Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes, the corrupt and wicked Congress government led by Siddaramaiah needs to be warned and that is why we have gathered here today.” He further stated, "The corrupt and anti-Dalit Congress government must be taught a fitting lesson. Our fight will continue relentlessly, and I call upon everyone to join hands in this struggle. A massive protest will take place at the same location tomorrow morning, and I urge everyone to participate."

He emphasized that the BJP has consistently championed the cause of SCs, STs, and backward communities, and has formed 14 teams to spearhead a mass movement against alleged fund misappropriation.

The Leader of the Opposition, R. Ashoka, added fuel to the accusations, claiming that the state's financial crisis has led to the diversion of Dalit welfare funds to meet other government guarantees. He dramatically labeled Chief Minister Siddaramaiah as "Siddanna, Loot Guarantee Anna" and accused him of driving the state towards bankruptcy.

Chalavadi Narayanaswamy, the Leader of the Opposition in the Legislative Council, reinforced the party's stance by highlighting the BJP's commitment to Dalit welfare. He called for party workers to engage with the public in preparation for upcoming local body elections, expressing confidence in the party's eventual victory.

The protest saw participation from numerous BJP leaders and workers, including former Deputy CM Dr. Ashwath Narayan, several MLAs, and prominent party functionaries. The event was part of a broader strategy to challenge the current state government's policies and build momentum for future electoral battles, particularly the upcoming Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) elections.
