Bengaluru- After the Karnataka government's handling of the MUDA scandal raised concerns in the state assembly, the BJP has taken to the streets to demand the resignation of Chief Minister Siddaramaiah.

The Karnataka BJP MPs visited the Parliament House and protested against the alleged scam. Union Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution Minister Pralhad Joshi was also on hand.

According to reports, Joshi demanded the resignation of the Karnataka Chief Minister, accusing him of being directly involved in the scam. The minister said that the Karnataka BJP leaders have been continuously raising the issue of corruption in the MUDA and Valmiki scam, but they are not allowing any discussion on the MUDA issue in the State Assembly.

The BJP plans a 150-kilometer padyatra from Bengaluru to Mysuru to register its protest. Meanwhile, the Congress has dismissed the BJP’s charges as politically motivated.

The Siddaramaiah government is facing an ED probe over the multi-crore Valmiki Scam, which involves the illegal routing of tribal welfare funds, with ex-minister B Nagendra as the key accused.

The opposition is also intensifying pressure over a dubious land deal allegedly involving Siddaramaiah's wife Parvathi under the MUDA scam. Additionally, BJP claims illegal allocation of Rs 600 crore to the Karnataka State Habitat Center, a private entity, breaching transparency laws, further fueling the controversy.

Meanwhile the chief minister has issued his detailed statement refuting all the allegations as baseless. In a X post he wrote: The allegation of 'Siddaramaiah grabbing the land of Dalits in Mysore' is totally baseless, it is a planned conspiracy with political malice targeting the Congress party and me ‍ . I put my statement before the people of the state today. BJP and JDS leaders are desperate. After we won 135 seats, he started making politically motivated statements. They are trying to smear my personality. They cannot bear me being the CM for the second time. In the session, only the ruling party discussed the problems of the people of the state, excessive rainfall and crop damage. The opposition party did not raise their voice about the sufferings of the people of the state.
