Patna – Bihar Leader of the Opposition (LoP) Tejashwi Yadav launched a scathing critique of both the Central and State governments on Saturday, accusing them of making empty promises to the people of Bihar. Yadav's remarks come as Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to visit Bhagalpur on February 24 to release an instalment of the Kisan Samman Nidhi scheme.

Addressing the upcoming visit, Yadav stated, "This is an election year in Bihar, and hence they (leaders from Delhi) would jump here every time. But they have nothing to do with the people of this state. They will come, make promises, and return. They cannot do anything for Bihar." He further criticized PM Modi's visit, calling it a "politically motivated move."

Yadav questioned the Central government's commitment to Bihar, highlighting the state's longstanding demand for special status. "I want to ask them (Central government) why they have not given special status to Bihar," he said, accusing them of making big promises and then forgetting them after the election.

The LoP also targeted Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, accusing him of negligence and a lack of leadership. He cited the recent incident where Kumar allegedly failed to receive the Vice President at the airport as evidence of his declining grip on governance. Yadav said Nitish Kumar has lost consciousness and forgot how to receive the Vice President. “The Vice President came to Patna yesterday, and Kumar did not go to the airport to receive him,” he said. Further criticizing the state's law and order situation, Yadav dismissed the surrender of former MLA Anant Singh as mere eyewash, claiming that those jailed would soon be released.
