Jaipur- The 5-year age relaxation for Other Backward Classes (OBCs) in the Rajasthan Police Service rules remains unchanged.
During the issuance of the notification, the 5-year relaxation provision was mistakenly listed in two places, but it has been corrected and removed from one of those places. This will not affect the age relaxation for OBCs under the Rajasthan Police Service rules.
Joint Secretary of the Personnel Department, Dinesh Sharma, explained that the notification dated November 13, 1996, first provided a 2-year age relaxation for the OBC category in the Rajasthan Police Service Rules, 1954. Subsequently, the notification dated May 25, 2000, added a 5-year extension to the age limit.
He further clarified that the notification issued on April 16, 2021, included a 5-year age relaxation for the OBC category, similar to amendments made to various service rules. However, during the issuance, the provision for a 5-year age relaxation for OBCs was mistakenly included in both Rule 11(1) Sub-clause (iii) and Sub-clause (xvii).
The Joint Secretary confirmed that an amendment has been made to the Rajasthan Police Service Rules, 1954, to remove Sub-clause (xvii).
