Ladies without Mehram Category Introduced for Haj Pilgrimage

New Delhi- For the first time, the application for Haj pilgrimage has been made available on the Haj Suvidha App. The application was launched by the ministers of state for minority affairs and the minister of minority affairs in New Delhi.

According to the information, the Saudi Arabia has allocated a quota of more than 1.75 lakh Haj pilgrims to India for Haj-2025. The quota is higher than ever before. In this year's Haj pilgrimage, the government has also made a change in the rules. For the first time, Muslim women aged 45 years or more will be able to perform Haj without a Mehram (male companion) under the Ladies without Mehram (LWM) category.

Under the LWM category, 4,558 Muslim women had performed Haj in 2024. This is the highest number ever of Muslim women who have performed Haj. The minister said that the government is committed to providing better facilities and a better experience to the Indian pilgrims.

The process of preparing for the Haj pilgrimage has been started early so that the benefits can be avail early. The government is working with the state government to ensure the smooth arrangements of the pilgrimage.

Speaking on the Jiyo Parsi Scheme Portal, Rijiju requested eligible Parsi couples to avail themselves of the benefits of the scheme. The Jiyo Parsi Scheme Portal aims to provide financial assistance to the Parsi community through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) mode.
