Patna – Purnea MP Rajesh Ranjan, alias Pappu Yadav, pledged his continued support for protesting BPSC candidates, vowing to fight for justice even if it means taking the matter to the Supreme Court. Yadav's declaration came during a Rail Chakka Jam protest at Sachiwalay Halt in Patna on Friday.
The MP criticized the Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) for alleged irregularities in the 70th combined preliminary examination. He demanded the cancellation of the entire exam and promised to continue protesting until paper leaks are stopped in Bihar and across the country.
Yadav drew parallels between the BPSC protest and historical movements, emphasizing the students' resilience. He stated, "When the Meena movement, Jat movement, reservation movement, farmers’ movement, Mandal movement, Kamandal movement, and others could last for long, why shouldn’t the BPSC examination Satyagraha continue? This movement will persist until justice is delivered.”
Following the Rail Chakka Jam, which disrupted train services, Yadav led a protest march to the Income Tax roundabout in Patna. He linked the BPSC protest to broader issues of governance and transparency, calling for systemic reforms to ensure fairness in examinations.
Yadav also criticized Prashant Kishor's hunger strike in Gandhi Maidan, questioning the activist's motives and timing. He accused Kishor of choosing a location where administrative action was likely, thereby undermining the seriousness of the protest. Yadav questioned why Kishor did not participate in the protest for the first 14 days and why he chose to stage the protest at the Bapu statue in Gandhi Maidan, implying that Kishor's actions were intended for publicity rather than addressing the students' grievances.
Earlier in the day, Yadav and hundreds of supporters blocked railway services at the Sachiwalay Halt railway station. The protest was part of a pre-planned demonstration to support the candidates who have been on a hunger strike for 17 days demanding the cancellation of the BPSC 70th Combined Preliminary Examination. Despite heavy police deployment, Yadav and his supporters managed to enter the station and sit on the railway tracks.
