Bhopal- In a significant stride towards inclusive healthcare, Bhopal, the capital of Madhya Pradesh, has introduced the country's first transgender clinic at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS). This clinic, operational on the first and third Thursday of each month from 2 pm to 4 pm, offers a comprehensive range of services, including surgery, psychiatric treatment, and plastic surgery, with collaboration from specialists across various medical departments.

The inception of the Transgender Clinic addresses the critical need for a safe and non-judgmental space where individuals within the transgender community can seek medical attention without reservation. This initiative aims to provide confidential and holistic healthcare solutions, catering to the diverse age groups within the transgender population, including children, adults, and the elderly.

The primary objective behind establishing this clinic is to bridge the existing healthcare gap for the 2-8 percent of transgenders who face challenges accessing essential health services.
