Ajmer- Speaking at the Central University of Rajasthan, Vice-President Jagdeep Dhankhar expressed his dismay over certain individuals holding Constitutional positions who are acting in ways that undermine the nation’s interests. He criticized such behavior as being "despicable, condemnable, and anti-national," emphasizing that the country’s welfare must always take precedence over personal or political interests. "We must never promote the interests of our enemies," he stressed, pointing out that such actions violate the oath taken to uphold the Constitution.
Highlighting the responsibility of all Indians, particularly those who represent the country on international platforms, Dhankhar reminded the audience that each citizen abroad serves as an ambassador for Indian culture and nationalism. Citing former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee’s leadership, he underscored how even when serving as Leader of the Opposition, Vajpayee put the nation first, especially on sensitive international matters. The Vice-President warned that history is unforgiving to those who act against their country’s best interests.
Stressing national unity, Dhankhar reiterated that differences in ideology or political perspective should never overshadow the supremacy of the nation. He urged citizens to prioritize their Fundamental Duties, respect Constitutional ideals, and work toward national progress. Regardless of caste, religion, or background, he emphasized, "We are united, and we are one." The Vice-President also praised India's strides in various fields, calling for continued efforts to address challenges such as climate change and uphold the country's global reputation.
