Hathras- At least 121 people have died in the stampede that took place at a Satsang event in Police Lines Hathras, Uttar Pradesh, on July 2, according to the state government.

He has also directed the district hospital's superintendent to ensure the safety of all the people in the area.

Notably, the stampede happened during a religious event led by 'Vishwa Hari Bhole Baba' that killed 121 people and injured over 300. The tragedy occurred near Phulrai village, where a massive crowd exceeded expected attendance.

Authorities have launched an investigation, and UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has vowed to identify those responsible. The incident highlights ongoing challenges in managing large public gatherings in India.

Speaking to the media, Yogi said, " Today I met the people, injured in the unfortunate accident, in the hospital and enquired about their well-being and obtained information about their treatment from the doctors. Under the supervision of skilled doctors, proper treatment of everyone is being given top priority. In this difficult time, the state government stands with the victims and their families with full readiness and sensitivity. I pray , may all the injured get well soon".
