Chittoor- The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) has taken suo motu cognisance of the incident in Andhra Pradesh where 70 students were affected by food poisoning.
The Commission said that it has received reports of serious health problems faced by the students after they were served food at Chittoor Apollo Health University.
The NHRC has sought a detailed report from the Chief Secretary and Director General of Police of Andhra Pradesh within four weeks. It has also raised concerns about the violation of human rights of the victims.
The Commission said that if the reports are true, the incident raises serious issues of violation of human rights of the victims.
