New Delhi- The National Cadet Corps (NCC) is currently recruiting 3 lakh more cadets to reach its 20 lakh strength in the coming years. To achieve this goal, the NCC has requested the governments of all states to assist it in providing the required resources, including manpower, funding, and infrastructure.
At the start of the NCC's Joint State Representatives and Additional/Deputy Directors General (JS R&A/D) Conference in New Delhi, Raksha Rajya Mantri Shri Sanjay Seth highlighted the NCC's significant role in the nation's development and how it assists in the formation of responsible and motivated young citizens. He also emphasised the NCC's commitment to social welfare and its involvement in various national initiatives, such as the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, International Yoga Day, Environment Protection, and Digital Awareness.
Noting that the government had recently approved an expansion plan to increase NCC cadet vacancies by three lakhs, RRM informed the participants that this expansion would also include ex-servicemen as NCC instructors. This would help in creating new employment opportunities for veterans and also ensure high-quality training for the cadets.
DGNCC Lt. Gurbirpal Singh highlighted the NCC's progress and achievements over the past two years and its plans for future expansion. He also expressed gratitude for the cooperation of the state governments in providing the necessary resources required for the NCC's growth and development.
The NCC is a significant organisation that plays a vital role in the overall development of the country. The NCC helps shape disciplined, responsible, and motivated young citizens, while also fostering leadership skills across various aspects of life. The expansion of the NCC will increase the total strength from 17 lakhs to 20 lakhs in the coming years. It is hoped that the governments of all states will heed the call of the NCC and extend their support to its growth and development.
