Bhopal- In Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh, a frustrated couple, disappointed by their inability to obtain ration from the government shop, visited the Tehsil office in hopes of meeting with the officer directly to expedite the process. However, their visit took an unexpected turn when they encountered the Tehsildar of Shahpura, resulting in a heated confrontation.

It is noteworthy that the couple had previously applied for a ration card four years ago, and after reapplying a month ago through the Sarpanch, their application was still pending. They had been making many rounds to village offices to get a ration card.

The altercation escalated, with the couple alleging that the Tehsildar not only verbally threatened them but also resorted to physical violence. According to the victim woman, the Tehsildar not only slapped her but also destroyed her mobile phone and physically assaulted her husband.

Pooja Burman, a resident of Ramkhiriya village, had been struggling for a month to obtain a ration card. She had also registered a complaint about this issue on the CM helpline. After the complaint, the tehsil employees were reportedly pressuring her to withdraw it. On the day of the incident, the couple visited the Tehsildar's office to address their ration card concerns. However, when they approached Tehsildar Ravindra Patel regarding their application, he became enraged.

Pooja stated that her family did not possess a ration card, which hindered their access to rations from the government shop. Despite submitting the required forms through the village sarpanch and secretary, their ration card had not been processed. When they visited the Tehsil office and requested assistance, Tehsildar Ravindra Patel reacted angrily.

According to Pooja, the Tehsildar physically assaulted her husband and confiscated her mobile phone when she attempted to intervene. He then threw her phone into water. The incident sparked outrage among villagers, who gathered at the Tehsil office to protest against Tehsildar Ravindra Patel.

Upon learning of the incident, the Shahpura police station intervened, and the victim couple filed a complaint. The couple also approached the Superintendent of Police's office to report the matter. Pooja narrated the incident to the ASP, prompting an investigation into the allegations. However, Tehsildar Ravindra Patel has denied any involvement, claiming to be unaware of the couple's identity.
