Meet Dolly- the Chaiwala who draws inspiration from Baba Saheb Ambedkar

New Delhi- Dolly Chaiwala gained prominence alongside Bill Gates, the world's seventh richest person and founder of Microsoft, when Gates shared a video on his social media of himself making and enjoying tea at a local tea shop. In the video, Bill Gates is seen savoring tea at Dolly's shop. Gates captioned the video shared on Instagram, "In India, you can find innovation everywhere – even in the preparation of a simple cup of tea!"

At that time, Dolly Chaiwala had no idea that the person he was serving tea to was one of the wealthiest individuals globally. He learned about this the following day when the video shared by Bill Gates went viral. In an interview with ANI, Dolly Chaiwala said, "I thought that since they are from abroad, they should be served tea, so I did just that. When I came to Nagpur the next day, I learned who I had served tea to."

When asked by the media whom he aspired to serve tea to next, Dolly replied, "Now I want to serve tea to Prime Minister Modi, if he comes here."

He told PTI, "The video was shot three days ago. His team contacted me and took me to Hyderabad for the project. Earlier, I did not know about him (Bill Gates), and it was only a day after the video went viral that I learned how famous he is. I am feeling very happy."

Who is Dolly Chaiwala?

Dolly Chaiwala, a roadside tea stall situated near the old VCA stadium in Nagpur's Sadar area, has garnered internet fame for his unique tea-making skills. However, Dolly's real name remains unknown. Dolly Chaiwala's videos have gone viral on the internet, amassing millions of views. Dolly has uploaded numerous videos showcasing his distinctive tea-making style, which captivates viewers.

Not only is Dolly known for his tea, but his method of storing cigarettes also amuses customers, making his stall a popular spot among tea enthusiasts. He mentioned to the media that he got the idea of working stylishly at a tea shop after watching South Indian films.

Several videos of Dolly Chaiwala paying respectful homage to Dr. Ambedkar have also gone viral on the internet. In light of this, there is speculation that Dolly draws inspiration from the architect of the Indian Constitution, Dr. B.R. Ambedkar.
