Ezhimala, Kerala- The Indian Naval Academy (INA) at Ezhimala will host the Indian Navy Sailing Championship (INSC) from October 16 to 19, 2024. The championship, which is the Indian Navy's largest sailing regatta, will see over 100 participants compete in five boat classes and three racing formats.

The event, organized under the aegis of the Indian Naval Sailing Association (INSA), will host teams from three Naval Commands, comprising officers, cadets, and sailors, including Agniveers. The Marakkar Watermanship Training Centre (MWTC) at INA, renowned as one of the country's top sailing facilities, will be the venue for the competition.

The INSC is an annual inter-Command event that aims to promote competitive sailing among naval personnel. This year's championship will feature fleet racing in International Laser Class Association (ILCA-6) boats for women, ILCA-7 boats for men, and Bic Beach boats for windsurfing (open). Team racing will be held in Enterprise class boats.

The Indian Navy emphasizes watermanship activities and recognizes sailing as a valuable tool for developing seamanship, camaraderie, courage, and leadership qualities among its personnel.
