India Aims to Become Global Hub for Green Hydrogen: PM Modi

New Delhi- Prime Minister Narendra Modi, speaking at the 2nd International Conference on Green Hydrogen via video message, outlined India's vision to become a global leader in the production, utilization, and export of green hydrogen. He urged the global scientific community to collaborate on shaping public policies to accelerate advancements in the sector.

PM Modi highlighted India’s early achievement of its Paris Agreement targets on green energy, which were met nine years ahead of schedule. He emphasized the potential of green hydrogen to decarbonize industries such as steel, refineries, fertilizers, and heavy transportation.

The Prime Minister also mentioned India's National Green Hydrogen Mission, which is focused on promoting innovation, infrastructure, and investment in green hydrogen. Union Ministers Hardeep Singh Puri and Pralhad Joshi echoed Modi’s vision, emphasizing India's natural advantages in green hydrogen production and the country’s commitment to sustainability.
