New Delhi- In a shocking incident, four people from Manipur, including two women, were brutally assaulted in the national capital, Delhi. According to reports, the people who assaulted them asked for their help in booking an Uber cab.
The incident took place in southeast Delhi's Sunlight Colony area. The police said that the four Manipuri people had gone out to drop a friend at his house around 11.30 pm on November 30. When they were returning, three strangers crossed them and asked them to help book an Uber ride as their phone battery was dead.
While the four Manipuri people were waiting for the ride to be confirmed, one of the strangers started abusing and insulting them. It also has been reported that the three strangers made a call and within two-three minutes, the Manipuri people were surrounded by several people and they started beating them.
The police have registered an FIR against unidentified people in this matter. The DCP of southeast Delhi has informed that the case has been registered on the basis of the complaint given by one of the victims. The DCP further said that the people who assaulted them are still unidentified.
The police said that the victim has suffered an abrasion on his knees, redness and swelling in the eyes, and swelling on the left side forehead. The police are still looking for the accused and the CCTV footage of the incident is being investigated.
