CBI Questions Ex-Principal Over Social Media Posts on Alleged College Irregularities

New Delhi— The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has questioned the former principal of RG Kar Medical College and Hospital on charges of posting content on social media in connection with the alleged irregularities in the college.

According to a statement issued by the CBI, the former principal of the college, Sandip Ghosh, has been questioned for four days.

The move has come after Leader of the Opposition Suvendu Adhikari alleged that people in West Bengal and other parts of the country are receiving notices under Section 168 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS) for having posts related to the incident on social media.

In a statement, Adhikari said that he will provide legal assistance to those who have received notices from the state police and the cybercrime department in connection with the social media posts.
