The book launch at the Constitution Club of India on Saturday turned out to be an enthralling event. Attended by dignitaries and veteran journalists like Mrinal Pande, Sankarshan Thakur and Abhay Kumar, the event as expected was a massive hit where audience sat mesmerised listening to the experiences shared by the authors who had compiled their efforts in form of the book.

What is 841446 ?

Everyone was curious to know about the title. Instead of a set of words, this set of numbers had aroused the curiosity of the audience attending the event. It was revealed at the function that 841446 is the pin code of Narenderpur, the destination where the reportages had originated from. The book is primarily based on real-life stories covered from the location and focuses on a combination of several reportages by different authors in the book . It is co-authored by 7 authors coming from different media houses including the founder of The Mooknayak Meena Kotwal, Ismat Ara, Arpana Chandel, Pragya Shrivastav, Pushpamitra, Shirish Khare and Mandeep Punia.

The session:

The session was moderated by Atul Chaurasia. Several discussions took place during the book launch addressing the growing market of print and digital journalism within media spaces.

The session also headed towards a discussion about Hindi journalism and the importance of women’s presence in different media institutions considering social, political and cultural oppression. The chief guests also took to the stage to share their different experiences of reporting in several states and different workspace cultures. Some of the discussions were also held on the importance of long-form journalism and reportage.

Some of the other renowned personalities in the media field were also part of the book launches event like Syed Irfan Habib, Ismita Sharma, Apurva Anand, Ajit Anjum and Rajesh Joshi.The event concluded after a Q&A session.
