68th Dhammachakra Pravartan Day: AIM Celebrates in New Jersey, Fostering Peace, Social Justice, and Unity

New Jersey – The Ambedkar International Mission (AIM) successfully hosted the 68th Dhammachakra Pravartan Day at Old Bridge, New Jersey, marking a significant event for followers of Buddhism and those inspired by the teachings of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar. The event, held on Saturday, October 12, drew hundreds of attendees from New York, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania, offering a day of spiritual reflection, intellectual discussions, and cultural performances.

The keynote address was delivered by Rev. T.K. Nagakagi, President Emeritus of the Buddhist Council of New York, who highlighted the importance of peace and reconciliation in today’s turbulent world. Emphasizing Buddhist principles of compassion, unity, and non-violence, Rev. Nagakagi's powerful speech resonated deeply with the audience, reinforcing the timeless relevance of these values in addressing global challenges.

In addition to spiritual discourse, the event provided a platform for addressing pressing social issues. AIM senior member, Mr. Milind Awasarmol, offered an in-depth analysis of the recent Supreme Court verdict on the subclassification of Scheduled Caste quotas and the concept of the creamy layer. His insights into the legal implications of the ruling sparked thoughtful discussion on the evolving landscape of affirmative action and social justice, particularly for Dalit communities.
