Pakistan has reported two more cases of Mpox disease, bringing the total number of cases to three. The additional cases come after the World Health Organization (WHO) designated the outbreak of Mpox as a global health emergency.

In a statement, Pakistan said that the two new cases are of a 34-year-old man who recently returned from Saudi Arabia and two more patients from the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa region.

“Since April 2023, Pakistan has reported 11 cases of Mpox and one death,” the statement said.

The WHO has warned that the deadly variant of Mpox, which has been detected in Sweden, may spread to Europe if more cases are reported.

Pakistan has quarantined the three new patients and said that it is not immediately clear whether the new and more deadly strain of Mpox is linked to the new and more deadly strain of Mpox.
