Ranchi- Union Minister for Women and Child Development, Annpurna Devi, visited Ranchi, Jharkhand, to review the progress of various Ministry schemes. She praised the expansion of the PM Ayushman Bharat Jan Arogya Yojana (PM AB-JAY) to include individuals over 70 years old and Anganwadi workers, which will increase insurance coverage. Additionally, she announced the upgradation of 2,551 Mini Anganwadi Centres to full AWCs in the state, as part of the Mission Saksham Anganwadi initiative aimed at improving child development services.
The Minister also highlighted efforts to improve conditions for tribal communities under the PM-JANMAN scheme, allocating funds to 111 Anganwadi Centres in tribal areas of Jharkhand. She noted the success of Poshan Maah, with over 3.8 crore activities conducted nationwide, including 26 lakh activities in Jharkhand through the "Ek Ped Ma Ke Naam" campaign.
Annpurna Devi urged officials to focus on key areas such as better implementation of the PM-JANMAN scheme, enhanced training for Anganwadi Workers, and resolving operational issues in Jharkhand's Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS). She reaffirmed the government’s commitment to empowering women and children through initiatives like Mission Saksham Anganwadi, Mission Vatsalya, and Mission Shakti.
