UP to Build Industrial City Spanning 36,000 Acres

Special airport, incentives worth Rs 1300 crore to woo investors

Lucknow- The Uttar Pradesh government has announced plans to establish a large industrial city between Jhansi and Kanpur, spanning approximately 36,000 acres, as part of its efforts to boost industrial development in the region.

During an event in Lucknow today, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath revealed that the new city would also feature a dedicated airport. He emphasized that Uttar Pradesh has now become a prime destination for investors, and his administration is committed to removing any obstacles to provide full support and assistance to those willing to invest in the state.

In addition to this announcement, the Chief Minister distributed incentives totaling around ₹1,300 crore to over 24 industrial units. Furthermore, Letters of Comfort were awarded for 28 investment proposals valued at ₹10,715 crore, with the Chief Minister personally presenting certificates for 10 proposals involving investments exceeding ₹4,500 crore. This marked the first time a special program was organized to distribute incentives to the state's industrial projects that have been established over the years.
