Bhopal. In the wake of serious revelations regarding the alleged sex scandal and money laundering linked to the Anandpur Dham Trust, the Madhya Pradesh government removed Ashoknagar Collector Aditya Singh from his post within just 48 hours. This action took place amid the ongoing election process in the state, where transfers are typically halted under normal circumstances. As a result, the government had to obtain special permission from the Election Commission before removing the collector. Aditya Singh has been appointed as the Director of the Bhopal Gas Relief Department.
The entire sequence of events accelerated after The Mooknayak published a detailed investigative report on Anandpur Dham. The report alleged that physical exploitation of employees and male-female attendants had been ongoing within the ashram premises for a long time. As soon as the report surfaced, the Congress party held a press conference, causing an uproar in administrative and political circles, leading to hasty action against the collector.
Immediately after the collector's removal, reports emerged claiming that he had allegedly demanded ₹3 crore from the Anandpur Dham Trust. This was cited as the reason for his ouster. However, the claim was later proven entirely false and baseless.
The Anandpur Dham Trust officially denied the allegation. Trust representative Kuldeep Mahatma stated clearly: The trust did not file any complaint against the collector; the collector did not demand any amount from the trust; no complaint was sent to the Prime Minister's Office (PMO) on behalf of the trust. The claim of a ₹3 crore demand is completely a rumor, with no connection to any viral messages on social media.
According to sources, Chief Secretary Anurag Jain's role in the entire matter has also come under scrutiny. During a video conference, the Chief Secretary mentioned the Chief Minister's name while emphasizing the responsibility of collectors in corruption cases. Shortly thereafter, the order to remove Collector Aditya Singh was issued.
This sequence has raised questions: Was this action aimed at ensuring real accountability, or was it an attempt to divert attention from a larger issue?
Sources claim that after the allegations of sex scandal and money laundering linked to the Anandpur Dham Trust, there was immense pressure on the administration. In this context, removing the collector is being viewed as a form of "damage control." Sources further indicate that the story of the collector demanding money was deliberately fabricated to shift focus from the real issues and suppress the matter.
The most serious allegation is that more than half a dozen IAS officers from the state may be connected to the Anandpur Dham Trust. If a fair investigation is conducted, several big names involved in money laundering could come to light.
In this regard, the Congress party has directly accused certain senior officers. Congress Scheduled Caste Department State President Pradeep Ahirwar held a press conference and made major allegations. He stated that IAS officers Vivek Agarwal and Avinash Lawania, who were previously posted in the Chief Minister's Office, along with others, may be involved in the money laundering activities linked to Anandpur Dham. The Congress claims that the involvement of these two officers, given their past roles in the CMO, adds to the gravity of the case.
Another name has surfaced in the case. Bhopal resident Amreek Singh has been accused of involvement in hawala operations. It is reported that a complaint in this regard has been filed with the DGP. The Congress demands that his role in the money laundering network should also be investigated.
The entire episode has raised serious questions about the government's intentions and administrative transparency.
Was the collector removed to protect the real culprits?
Will there be a fair investigation into the sex scandal and money laundering allegations?
Will the names of major administrative and political figures emerge?
For now, the Anandpur Dham case is no longer confined to just an ashram or a single collector. It has evolved into a major test of the state's administrative system, power structures, and accountability. In the coming days, it will be crucial to observe the direction of the investigation and whether the full network is truly exposed or if the matter is buried in files.
