Singer Diljit Dosanjh Faces Restrictions for Hyderabad Concert

Hyderabad- Punjabi singer Diljit Dosanjh has been directed by the Telangana government to refrain from performing songs promoting alcohol, drugs, and violence during his 'Dil-Luminati' concert in Hyderabad on Friday. The notice, served on November 7 by the District welfare officer of Rangareddy district, cites a complaint lodged by Chandigarh-based Professor Panditrao Dharenavar.

The complaint includes video evidence of Dosanjh performing songs with the alleged content at Delhi's Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium on October 26 and 27. The notice states, "We are issuing this notice in advance to deter promoting alcohol/drugs/violence through songs in your live show."

In addition to the lyrical restrictions, Dosanjh has also been prohibited from allowing children on stage during the concert, scheduled for the GMR Arena. This directive comes as a measure to protect children from potentially harmful loud sound levels, exceeding the permissible limit of 120 decibels for children, as recommended by the World Health Organization.

The concert organizers have also been instructed to ensure sound pressure levels do not surpass 140 decibels, the recommended limit for adults. Furthermore, the notice emphasizes that children under 13 years of age are not permitted at the concert, citing potential harm from loud music and flashing lights.

Dosanjh arrived in Hyderabad on Wednesday and shared videos of his city tour on social media, including a ride in an auto-rickshaw through the old city and visits to the Charminar and other religious sites.
