MP Yadav Petitions Patna High Court Over BPSC Exam Irregularities

Patna— Purnea MP Rajesh Ranjan, commonly known as Pappu Yadav, filed three petitions in the Patna High Court on Tuesday, alleging irregularities in the Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) examinations. The petitions follow widespread public outcry over repeated exam malpractices and allegations of mistreatment of protesting candidates.

Yadav’s petitions target various aspects of the BPSC’s conduct. The first petition demands accountability for the repeated paper leaks that have marred several recent examinations. The second petition criticizes the administration’s response to protesting candidates, specifically citing the use of excessive force, including a lathi charge, and the filing of FIRs against them. The third petition seeks to cancel the 70th Combined Preliminary Examination, alleging widespread malpractice and unfairness.

Yadav condemned the BPSC for negligence and highlighted the alleged involvement of examination mafias, such as the Sanjeev Mukhiya group, who he claims have ties to influential political leaders. He further criticized political strategist Prashant Kishor, indirectly referring to him as the “new satyagrahi,” for his lack of commitment to the protests against BPSC irregularities.

This legal action follows a Supreme Court decision on Jan. 7, where the court directed petitioners seeking the cancellation of the BPSC prelims exam to approach the Patna High Court first.

On March 31, Yadav will raise the issue of examination corruption and paper leaks in the upcoming Lok Sabha session, demanding a nationwide discussion. His petitions echo similar actions by other candidates and organizations, including the Jan Suraaj Party, who have also petitioned the Patna High Court for the cancellation of the 70th Preliminary Examination and accountability for the forceful suppression of protests.
