Bhopal- The Madhya Pradesh government is to use digital mode to serve summons and warrants on the occasion of filing a case. This will make it the first state in the country to implement such a system.

According to a report of The Madhya Pradesh Home Department, the electronic filing of summons and warrants will take effect in all judicial processes in the state. The government has published the Madhya Pradesh Electronic Processes (Issuance, Service and Execution) Rules, 2024 in the Madhya Pradesh Gazette.

The new rules will apply when a person uses digital communication methods like WhatsApp. For those who are not familiar with digital communication services, the summons and warrants will continue to be served in the conventional manner.

The government expects that the implementation of this digital system will improve the efficiency of the judicial system.

Chief Minister Mohan Yadav said that this development will come as a step of accelerating the judicial procedures and enhancing the efficiency of the judicial system.
