Thiruvananthapuram- In a scathing critique aimed at Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Congress Kerala team has resurrected a controversial incident from the 2017 Vibrant Gujarat Summit, accusing him of misleading global investors.

The incident, which recently resurfaced through a Gujarati newspaper cutting shared by the Kerala Congress on its official social media handle, alleges that 450 school teachers were purportedly trained and dressed up as CEOs to attract investment during the summit.

The Kerala Congress highlighted this episode with a caption that read, "DID YOU KNOW | At the 2017 Vibrant Gujarat Summit, 450 school teachers were tutored and made to dress up in suits and ties and pose as multinational company CEOs. Is there anything genuine about this man? If he can deceive global investors, imagine how effortlessly he can deceive you without having an iota of shame or guilt."

The incident, which dates back to 2017 Vibrant Gujarat Summit, has sparked renewed criticism regarding transparency and authenticity of the functioning of the BJP government.

The Congress's resurgence of this issue is seen as part of a broader strategy to question Modi's leadership and credibility, particularly as the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) government enters its third term.

This move reflects ongoing political tensions and the opposition's efforts to capitalize on past controversies to sway public opinion.

The resurfacing of this controversy comes amidst a backdrop of heightened political discourse in India, with opposition parties like the Congress seeking to hold the ruling government accountable on various fronts.

On Wednesday, the Kerala Congress also shared a post criticizing Prime Minister Modi for his insensitivity and lack of empathy towards the ongoing crisis in Manipur. They highlighted a recent incident where Leader of the Opposition Rahul Gandhi was denied the opportunity to speak on Manipur in Parliament, an unprecedented move as his microphone was switched off, marking a first in the country's history.

The post also criticized the Prime Minister for failing to mention Manipur in his speech, underscoring the Congress's discontent with the government's handling of the issue.

Citing a third incident, the Kerala Congress also criticized the Prime Minister regarding the damage to the Sohna-Gurugram flyover. In the post, they shared, "Remember, ₹1944 crore went into building this 21 km six-lane elevated road, which was inaugurated exactly two years ago. Imagine the scale of corruption in such projects! Who is the PM trying to fool in parliament with his fake anti-corruption rhetoric?"

As the debate unfolds, the implications of such allegations on public perception and political narratives remain pivotal in shaping future electoral discourse and governance scrutiny.
