Hyderabad- All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) president Asaduddin Owaisi has issued a stark warning to citizens across India regarding the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of voter lists in Bihar, cautioning that similar exercises may soon be implemented nationwide. The firebrand leader's remarks have ignited a fresh political debate about voter rights and citizenship documentation.

In a video posted on x, Owaisi claimed the Election Commission of India's current voter list revision drive in Bihar could disenfranchise vulnerable communities. He emphasized that Muslims, Dalits, and Adivasis would be disproportionately affected if their names were arbitrarily removed from electoral rolls.

"If your name gets deleted from the voter list, Modi will be the happiest person," Owaisi declared. "You'll lose not just voting rights but may be forced to prove your citizenship. Without voter ID, who will ask why unemployment is rising?"

Owaisi framed voter list exclusion as a strategic move to silence dissent:
"No voter ID means no right to ask why 30 lakh government posts are vacant. They'll first take your vote, then your voice." Predicting domino effect, Owaisi said: "Today Bihar, tomorrow Telangana. After that, West Bengal, Tamil Nadu, Uttar Pradesh – every opposition-ruled state will face this 'intensive revision'."

Owaisi's Explosive Charge on Voter List 'Exclusion Agenda'

Asaduddin Owaisi continued his remarks, stating, "You will lose the right to ask the Prime Minister why unemployment has become my destiny." He further emphasized, "If you have a 2BHK certificate from any government scheme, preserve it carefully. I am saying this because these are the exact 10 documents the Election Commission has referenced for Bihar's voter list revision."

Owaisi recalled, "We had filed an appeal in the Supreme Court on behalf of Akhtarul Iman's group. The court, in its interim order, directed the Election Commission to accept Aadhaar and ration cards as valid documents for voter registration. Hence, this is crucial. Remember my words—when intensive revision takes place in Telangana or any other state, there’s no need to panic. There’s still time. Get your passport made, obtain your birth certificate, and secure your caste certificate."

He reiterated his warning, "Remember, if your name is removed from the voter list, Modi will be the happiest. Why? Because as long as your name is on the list, leaders like me can question Modi—why are the poor getting poorer while the rich grow richer? But Modi doesn’t want anyone to question him. If the names of youth are deleted from the voter list, they will lose the right to ask the Prime Minister why unemployment has become their fate."

Urge for proactive measures

Owaisi pointed out the recurring narrative, "They keep claiming—there are Bangladeshis in certain areas, Rohingya or Myanmarese in others, Nepalis settling here and there. These are all preparations being made. I am responsibly cautioning you—this is not to scare you or provoke emotions. It is on record that an intensive revision will be conducted nationwide. In Telangana, the last such revision happened in 2007 or 2002, if I recall correctly."

Explaining the legal process, Owaisi warned, "Cases will go to the Foreigners Tribunal. There’s a procedure—first, the SP Border will be notified, who will then write to the Ministry of Home Affairs. After approval from three officers, your case will proceed. You will lose your livelihood. Most importantly, you will lose your dignity. People will point fingers and say, ‘This person’s name was deleted from the voter list—they’re not an Indian citizen.’"

Concluding with a call to action, he said, "So remember my words and start acting on them now. I have many enemies, and many disagree with me. Because if there’s any leader in India, it is Asaduddin Owaisi. Many resent me, but pay no heed. I am warning you. I am alerting you—we must prepare before the storm hits. To thwart the conspiracies of those plotting against us, we must prepare with your help."

Document Preparedness Call-to-Action

Owaisi's most practical segment listed survival documents:
Run, don't walk, to get these:

  • 10th class marksheet (your educational birth certificate)

  • Birth certificate (if born at home, get it made now)

  • Passport (the gold standard for citizenship proof)

  • Caste Certificate

  • Pension Documents for retired persons

  • Land/Home allotment documents from any government scheme

  • Identity cards of government service

He specifically advised marginalized groups:
"Dalit brothers-sisters – safeguard your caste certificates. Tribal communities – preserve your forest land records. These papers are your armor."
