New Delhi- The Ministry of Coal recently held a meeting, led by Additional Secretary and Nominated Authority Rupinder Brar, to assess the progress of 71 coal mines at different stages of completion. These mines, located across nine states (Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Odisha, and West Bengal), were auctioned in various tranches.

The review focused on ensuring that the allottees expedite necessary steps for operationalizing the coal blocks, particularly those nearing the advanced stages of clearance. The meeting reflects the government's proactive approach to overcoming operational hurdles and ensuring energy security through increased domestic production, contributing to the country’s sustainable economic growth.
