Government Funds Infrastructure Projects for Agriculture

New Delhi- According to the Union Agriculture Minister, Shivraj Singh Chouhan, 72 thousand infrastructure projects worth 76 thousand crore rupees have been completed under the Agriculture Infrastructure Fund.

The scheme was started in 2020 to assist in the creation of post-harvest management facilities that will assist in decreasing losses, increasing farmers' value, promoting innovation in agriculture, and attracting investment for agricultural infrastructure.

Under this scheme, banks and financial institutions have provided one lakh crore rupees to eligible borrowers. According to Singh Chouhan, the government is arranging for the proper storage of farmers' crops so that they can get a fair price for their crops.

The government is continuously working towards enhancing farmers' crop production. The Minister said that the country's agricultural growth rate is currently around 4 percent, while the country has a large stock of food grains.
