Welcome Monsoon: Heavy Rainfall Alerts in Several Parts of India

New Delhi- The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued alerts for heavy rainfall in many parts of the country as the southwest monsoon continues to move. The IMD has issued alerts for coastal Karnataka, Konkan and Goa, South Interior Karnataka, Kerala, and Mahe.

The monsoon's northern limit is currently extending through Mundra, Mehsana, Udaipur, Shivpuri, Siddhi, Lalitpur, Chaibasa, Haldia, Pakur, Sahibganj, and Raxaul. According to the IMD, favorable conditions are expected for the monsoon to further advance into the northern parts of North Arabian Sea, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, and a few northern states in the next three to four days.

It is predicted that widespread rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning will occur over Konkan and Goa, Madhya Maharashtra, Marathwada, Karnataka, Kerala, and Mahe, as well as Lakshadweep, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, and Chhattisgarh in the coming days.

The eastern and northeastern parts of the country are also likely to get a significant amount of rain. The IMD predicts that fairly widespread to widespread rainfall is likely over Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim, Arunachal Pradesh, Assam and Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, and Tripura.

According to the IMD, Uttarakhand, East Rajasthan, and East Uttar Pradesh are likely to get heavy rain. The IMD has advised the residents of the affected areas to stay updated on the local weather news and take appropriate measures to ensure their safety during the heavy rainfall. Authorities in vulnerable areas are on high alert for potential flooding and landslides.
