New Delhi- Prime Minister Narendra Modi has reiterated India's commitment to protecting rhinos on the occasion of World Rhino Day. In a message shared on social media, he acknowledged the efforts of those involved in rhino conservation and highlighted India’s significant role in preserving this iconic species, particularly the one-horned rhino.

The Prime Minister took to X (formerly Twitter) to express his views:
"Today, on World Rhino Day, let us reiterate our commitment to protect one of our planet's most iconic species--rhinos. Compliments to all those involved in rhino conservation efforts over the last many years."

He also emphasized the pride India takes in being home to a substantial population of one-horned rhinos, primarily located in Assam's Kaziranga National Park. The Prime Minister fondly recalled his own visit to Kaziranga and urged citizens to explore this unique wildlife destination.

"It is a matter of immense pride that India is home to a large number of one-horned rhinos. I also fondly recall my visit to Kaziranga in Assam and urge you all to visit there as well," the Prime Minister wrote.

The message reinforces India's ongoing dedication to wildlife conservation, with Kaziranga National Park playing a crucial role in the protection and growth of the one-horned rhino population.
