Northeast India braces for heavy rainfall

IMD predicts heavy to extremely heavy rainfall over Assam, Meghalaya, and Arunachal Pradesh

New Delhi- The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast heavy to extremely heavy rainfall in northeastern states, including Assam, Meghalaya, and Arunachal Pradesh, for the next six days. The IMD also anticipates heavy rainfall in Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, West Bengal, Sikkim, and Bihar until September 14.

In central and northern regions, including Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, Uttar Pradesh, and Uttarakhand, very heavy rainfall is expected today, with a well-marked low-pressure system over northeastern Madhya Pradesh likely to intensify into a depression.

Chhattisgarh is set to receive heavy rainfall between September 14-16, while Delhi is predicted to experience moderate rainfall and cloudy skies over the next six days.
