Andhra Pradesh: Flood Relief Measures in Full Swing After Army Seals Canal Breach

Hyderabad- After the heavy rains, the flood relief measures are in full swing in Andhra Pradesh. This comes after the Indian Army's disaster relief team worked on the war footing to seal the crucial breach in the Budameru Canal in Vijayawada in the state.

The Indian Army's disaster relief team is working tirelessly to address the issue. Union Minister for Agriculture and Rural Development, Shivraj Singh Chauhan, inspected the relief efforts and met with flood-impacted farmers, assuring them of full support from the Central government.

With a break in the rains over the past 24 hours, the pace of flood relief measures has intensified. Two of the three breaches in the Budameru Canal have already been repaired, and the Indian Army continues to work on sealing the third breach. Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu conducted an aerial survey to evaluate the damage and monitor the ongoing relief operations. To alleviate the suffering of those affected by the floods, the State government is providing 30 kgs of free rations and vegetables to those in need.

Earlier in the day, Union Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan visited flood-hit areas in Gannavaram, Krishna District, where he interacted with farmers. He emphasized that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is closely monitoring the flood situation in Andhra Pradesh and is committed to addressing the crisis.
