Chhatarpur- A 12th-grade student allegedly shot and killed his school principal in Chhatarpur district, Madhya Pradesh, on Friday, according to police. The incident occurred at a government senior secondary school in Ghamora village, Orchha Road police station jurisdiction.

Principal Surendra Kumar Saxena (55), a resident of Chhatarpur, was reportedly shot twice, in the head and chest, while coming out of the school washroom around 1:30 p.m. The student fled the scene following the incident.

Hearing the gunshots, teachers and students rushed to the scene and found Saxena lying in a pool of blood. They immediately transported him to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Police arrived at the school and launched an investigation. The body has been sent for post-mortem. Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) Vikram Singh stated that two teams have been deployed to apprehend the accused student. Police have begun questioning school staff and senior students, but the motive behind the crime remains unclear.

"School staff and some students are being interrogated. Meanwhile, two police teams are searching for the accused student," ASP Vikram Singh said.

The incident sent shockwaves through the school, causing panic among students and teachers. Parents of other students arrived at the school and took their children home.
