Jaipur – Governor Haribhau Bagade chaired a high-level review meeting with universities across Rajasthan, emphasizing the adoption of technological innovations, promotion of new inventions, increasing patent filings, and enhancing intellectual capabilities through curriculum development.

During the meeting held at Raj Bhavan on Wednesday, Governor Bagade assessed the progress of universities in implementing the National Education Policy (NEP) and securing NAAC accreditation. He stressed that all institutions in Rajasthan must prioritize education quality.

Dr. Ajit Kumar Karnataka, Vice-Chancellor of JNVU Jodhpur and MPUAT Udaipur, informed the Governor that MPUAT Udaipur has secured 44 patents in just two years, while its Scopus H-Index remarkably improved from 37 to 78. He also highlighted the university’s focused work on solar energy harnessing and crop residue management. Additionally, JNVU Jodhpur has successfully obtained NAAC accreditation.

Governor Bagade assured that every possible effort would be made to enhance higher education in the state, including necessary amendments to rules and laws if required. He emphasized the importance of mother-tongue education, integrating Indian knowledge traditions and cultural values, and developing effective academic systems aligned with NEP.

The Governor directed universities to ensure timely action for NAAC accreditation and encouraged efforts to make India a global knowledge hub through NEP implementation. He also urged Rajasthan’s universities to strive for national leadership in higher education.

Dr. Prithvi, Secretary to the Governor, highlighted the need to align education and research in Rajasthan’s universities with global standards and innovation. Higher Education Secretary Bhanu Prakash Atru presented updates on the progress of college and university education in the state.
