New Course: IIT Delhi's Design Program Targets Real-World Solutions

New Delhi- The Department of Design at IIT Delhi will offer a new four-year undergraduate programme ‘B. Tech. in Design’ from the academic year 2025-26. The programme will focus on the intersection of technology and design and provide students with skills in research, systematic discovery, and design.

The admission criteria for the new programme will be based on JEE(Advanced) rankings. However, students will also have to qualify in the design aptitude test, UCEED(Undergraduate Common Entrance Examination for Design). The programme is expected to draw on the strengths of the Institute as both departments have expertise in technology and design.

IIT Delhi’s new programme will be a unique initiative that focuses on the intersection of technology and design. It will provide students with skills in research, systematic discovery, and design, making them equipped with the skills to create innovative solutions to real-world problems. The programme will also promote collaboration and partnerships between different departments and centres.

The B. Tech. in Design programme at IIT Delhi is expected to have a strong focus on product design.
