Jaipur- Defence Minister Rajnath Singh formally inaugurated the new Sainik School in Jaipur on September 23, as part of the government's initiative to establish 100 new Sainik Schools across India in partnership with state governments, NGOs, and private institutions.
Of these, 40 schools have already become operational, including Sainik School, Jaipur. Rajnath Singh expressed confidence that the institution would inspire and guide patriotic youth from Rajasthan to join the Armed Forces, citing the bravery of historical figures like Maharana Pratap and Sawai Jai Singh as motivational examples.
During his speech, the Defence Minister emphasized the growing role of the private sector in contributing to national development, with the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model evolving into a 'Private-Public Partnership.' He highlighted the role of Sainik Schools in ensuring the physical, mental, and social development of students, instilling in them the values of discipline, patriotism, and courage. Singh noted that these schools not only prepare students for the Armed Forces but also equip them to excel in other careers, urging students to remain focused on their goals.
The new Sainik Schools will operate under the Sainik Schools Society while following an “Academic Plus Curriculum,” which goes beyond regular academics by incorporating skill-based training, debates on social issues, extracurricular activities, NCC, and community service. The aim is to provide holistic education and groom students to contribute to national progress. Dignitaries including Rajasthan's Deputy Chief Minister Diya Kumari and Sports Minister Col Rajyavardhan Rathore (Retd) were also present at the inauguration.
