Sirohi- A government school in Pindwara block in Sirohi district of Rajasthan has come under scrutiny following the emergence of a troubling video. In the footage, a student is depicted washing the feet of a fourth-class employee of the school, sparking outrage and raising questions about the school's practices and administration.

The incident, which occurred at the Government Higher Secondary School in Vatera village, has stirred significant controversy within the local community. Upon the video's circulation, concerned family members of the students involved rushed to the school premises to demand answers.

According to reports, approximately 15-16 students were present during the incident, further fueling concerns about the appropriateness of such activities within the educational environment. The family members expressed shock and anger, questioning the authority of the fourth-class employee to subject their children to such tasks.

In response to the uproar, the school administration has been compelled to provide clarification regarding the incident. Principal Ramlal clarified that the foot-washing incident was part of a vocational beautician course being offered at the school. This explanation, however, has not fully assuaged the concerns of the aggrieved family members.

District Education Officer Hanif Khan has called for an inquiry in the matter. Khan also acknowledged the vocational training component integrated into the school curriculum, which includes courses such as beautician training. However, an investigation has been launched to ascertain the circumstances surrounding the involvement of the fourth-class employee in the incident.

Vocational Courses Integrated into Curriculum

As part of the National Secondary Education Campaign, vocational courses have been integrated into the state's school curriculum, starting from class 9. The initiative aims to equip students with skills for employment opportunities beyond higher education. Courses such as beautician training, patient care, IT, and automobile mechanics are offered, with examinations conducted akin to traditional subjects.

Meanwhile, the family of the student involved has come forward, expressing deep concern over the emotional toll the viral video has taken on their child. They assert that the student has been experiencing severe stress and emotional distress since the video surfaced. In light of this, they are demanding immediate action, including the suspension of the employee involved in the incident.
