The college is running at Sub-district headquarters at Malarna Dungar of Sawai Madhopur district. Construction of building yet to start after three years.

Jaipur— Rajasthan government ramped up the number of state colleges but have failed to provide the wherewithal. One such government college is running at malarna Dungar sub-district headquarters of Sawai Madhopur district. There is one classroom for teaching 377 students, the second room is reserved for administrative purposes. This is also not regularly cleaned. Due to insufficient space to sit the number of students attending the classes has dwindled. In such circumstances, the adverse impact on the result can also not be ruled out. The student leaders of the college often protest for the demands of the students, but the Higher Education authorities often gloss over such demands.

The number of Students increased, but not the facilities

The state government approved the Government College at the initiative of local MLA Danish Abrar in 2020. Because of the unavailability of its own building 5 rooms of Government Senior Secondary School were allotted for running the college. The college administration says that only two rooms were actually provided. While one room was used for setting up the office and the other was used for teaching.

Girls outnumber the Boys

According to the information provided there are 69 Male students and 64 female students in the first year and in the second year there are 54 boys against 62 girls. Whereas, in the third year there are 55 boys and 73 girls enrolled. The slogan of Beti Bachao-Beti Padhao spiked up the number of girls in colleges but the government is not providing the facilities for their education.

The responsibility of teaching hinges upon the guest teachers

The government college is having a permanent accountant. Additionally, Principal Sonulal Meena has been made Nodal officer on probation. He travels 40 kilometers daily from Government Post Graduate College Gangapur City to reach Malarna Dungur. All 8 teaching positions in the college are vacant. For the non-teaching staff 12 of the 13 positions are vacant. There is not even a single permanent teacher. There are 8 teachers appointed under Vidya Sambal Yojana, but they rarely come to the college rarely. Professor Mahendra Kumar Navariya told that as of now, the approved subjects are Political Science, Geography, Hindi, Urdu, English, History and Social Work under Arts Stream.

Professor Mahendra Kumar told The Mooknayak there is a "paucity of space". The students coming to the class are also taught under tree. If the college gets its own premises, then there will improvement in the teaching facilities also.
