Patna, Bihar – Patna Police refuted rumors of educationist Faizal Khan (Khan Sir) being detained amidst ongoing protests by BPSC candidates. Khan Sir was present at the protest site in Patna's Gardanibagh locality on Friday, expressing solidarity with the candidates who are demanding reforms in the examination process. He was removed from the protest site for attempting to support agitating students and later reached the Gardani Bagh police station.

Earlier, educationists like Khan Sir and Guru Rahman publicly opposed the government's handling of the situation and supported affected candidates. The incident occurred as hundreds of students gathered around the BPSC office, alleging irregularities in the 70th BPSC PT exam. Patna Police attempted negotiation, but intense protest led to a lathi charge to disperse the crowd. Student leaders were injured during this action.

Khan Sir urged the authorities to address the candidates' concerns, specifically calling for a transparent and equitable examination system. He emphasized the need for a deadline extension for candidates who faced application submission issues due to server problems and for additional time for exam preparation to compensate for disruptions caused by the delay.

Guru Rahman echoed these demands, condemning the lathi-charge as an "anarchy" and demanding a written commitment from the BPSC chairman that the controversial normalization process would not be implemented. He also highlighted the plight of approximately 80,000 candidates who were unable to complete their applications due to technical difficulties, demanding a three-month extension to the examination schedule.

While tensions remain high, Patna SSP Rajiv Mishra clarified that Khan Sir was not arrested or detained. Patna SSP Rajiv Mishra emphasized that Khan Sir was never arrested or detained but repeatedly asked to leave the police station.

The Commission dismissed rumors of exam normalization as baseless. The situation in Patna remains under control as authorities continue to address the students' demands.
